Jean Dalton is a proud grandmother, lifelong storyteller, and passionate advocate for children and families. With over 35 years of experience working in the Human Services and Community Development field – spanning schools, nonprofits and government programs, Jean has dedicated her life fostering mental health and supporting families in every season of life.
She spent 20 years with Family and Community Support Services working with children, families and schools. Following this, she worked at the Edmonton Sexual Assault Centre as well as the United Way of the Alberta Capital Region where she championed programs that strengthened community connections and resilience.
Now, she brings her love for storytelling to the page with her debut children’s book, Grandma Cookies, a magical tale sprinkled with warmth, wisdom, and just the right amount of sweetness. Inspired by her grandchildren, her first book is straight from the heart (and maybe her secret recipe box!). Jean believes kindness, imagination, and a good cookie can go a long way.
