Carey Blatchford
Carey Blatchford lives on Treaty 6 Territory, in Saskatoon, Sk. Canada. There she writes children’s stories about wholesome family bonding, relatable everyday adventures, in a mix of urban, rural and travel experiences, in a style described as upbeat and rhythmic. Carey’s first published book “Daddy and Me: My First Combine Ride” will hit shelves in September of 2027!
Carey grew up in the small town of Kelvington, Sk. where her family often told her that she should write children’s books. Carey loved writing poems for entertainment and fun but it wasn’t until the birth of her first daughter, Charlotte, that she found something meaningful enough to share.
Carey is a Vice Principal and Special Education Teacher with her Bachelor of Arts and Masters of Science in Education. She is a member of the Canadian Society of Children’s Authors, Illustrators and Performers, as well as the Saskatchewan Writer’s Guild. Carey has been a judge for Indigo’s Love of Reading applications, and is on the Shining committee for Saskatchewan’s Willow Book Awards.
In her spare time, Carey loves to take too many naps.
